The Kelly-style handbag is deconstructed and recontextualized through a lens that merges the utilitarian with the symbolic. Crafted from dead-stock vintage flesh-toned leather, it evokes the clinical neutrality of asylum and hospital uniforms—garments once designed to erase individuality and enforce conformity. The bag's network of straps and closures, with their rigid structure, serves as a visceral reminder of institutional control, while simultaneously reimagining these elements as part of a personal, wearable narrative. Each strap, each closure, echoes a subtle tension between the restrictive nature of its origin and the freedom it now symbolizes.
